Need help identifying a leftover screw

I found this in the box where I put all my bike screws. Not sure how long it was there but recently I took of all the plastic panels, gas tank and airbox. I'm guessing it should be used somewhere in the bodywork, but it doesn't fit into any of the obvious holes, it's a size too thick. I still have the cowling off, but I don't remember this screw having anything to do with it and I have the cowling bolts stored separately.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
