Been a while for me last time I posted something here. A friend of mine has a XJ900 (diversion model) with a little inconvenient problem. It looks like the bike gets a little to much fuel when you for instance are waiting for a traffic light or just when it idles for a while and you want to ride away (at least a minute). It seems to get better when it's hot. And only happens driving away from N to 1st and driving from 1st to 2nd. The idle mixture screws where all over the place when I checked, from 3 to 3,5 turns out, but as far as I could find it should be 1,5 (correct me if i'm wrong).
Before these recent problems it was a little hickup in low rev's and now after a couple of actions it is this what I wrote here above. He describes it as a smokerscough.
So the things I have allready done are:
- Fuel filter change
- Air filter change
- Idle mixture all carbs reset to 1,5 turns out
- Full carb clean.
- Float height check (tubes) if they where all the same height
- Fuel additive (cleaner)
- Carb synch
I'm kind of ut of options here
