XJ Gents,
My mirrors hit my windscreen with OEM setup while the bars are rotated to good position. Bar end mirrors fix that and are far nicer. The OEM bars are narrow, not so great. I like the adventure bike posture when available.
The Bikemaster Euro bars are far superior, except then the master cylinder hits the fairing, as well as the clutch lever, and both oem mirrors.
Remove mirrors, then brake and clutch both still hit.
Rotate bar back so not so comfortable, and only the brake hits.
Look down in front and the bar swings more to left than right.
Thinking about a nub of some sort to put on the right steering stopper tab, which limits the leftwards motion of the steering. This bike needs that. I admit, did not measure with micrometer but it looks unbalanced.
While in there, also need a shiv to jam in where the braided line goes through OEM sleeve on lower steering bracket. Keep from rubbing on things. May cut rubber bottle stopper and zip tie in place.
If there were bar-backwards brackets, that would be OK, need a half inch. Never find them. May heat and bend the bars, then repaint.
Yet another pleasant half day in the garage, upcoming.
Moving on to the 2015 SR400 soon, but the XJ is a keeper.
Any thoughts from the gallery are highly appreciated.
