Hello all.
I am here to finally add to the knowledge base of this forum. I have been lurking as I restored and rebuilt my 1996 XJ. This bike went from a leaky, oily mess to a piece of candy that I dream will travel the continent. I kept pretty good records and photos of what I did, just found myself to caught up in the project to look up and start posting. I have one starter thing to say...... Do NOT use a Subaru camshaft seal for the crankshaft on a 1996 Seca! I do not know if other years rotate the opposite direction, but the Subaru seal is a correct size, but DIRECTIONAL! The OPPOSITE direction. Weeping oil out of the engine instead of in. This was a pushing reason for joining. I want to help correct some of the misconceptions on this forum and join the conversation so I can continue to learn. Thank you all for your help. Without all of you my bike would not be where it is at.
