After a month and a half of troubleshooting and repairing my beautiful 96 xj600 seca II, I was finally able to take her out on the roads yesterday! Yayy!!!

I drove about 20 miles and everything is going great! Gears are shifting beautifully, engine sounds amazing, brakes are sharp; just a great first 20 miles until........ the bike randomly shuts off on me while going 60 mph. Oh god what the hell just happened?

I pull over on the side of the road, hit the ignition switch a few times and the bike turns over but no start! Oh boy, the bike won't start and I am 20 miles away from home, scary! I checked for leaks..nothing. smoke..nothing. Fuel?? Fu*K!!!

In all of my excitement of finally being able to ride I completely forgot to fuel the bike up before hitting the road. The gas tank was empty! I didn't realize how much gas I had wasted from turning on and off and repairing different parts.

Needless to say I found myself on the side of a not so busy road trying to hitch hike back to the nearest town.

After about 20 minutes of waiting I was able to get a ride back to the nearest town where I than walked an extra 5 miles to my car and was able to get a friend to drive my car while I road my bike back after getting some gas.

Moral of the story always check your fuel before you go on long rides. I learned that the hard way. But I am a rookie and I imagine theres a lot more learning the hard way I'm going to have to do in my future.

Anyways learn from my mistakes and ride safe my fellow two wheel friends :)
