I refuse to believe that we N converters must be restricted to using 30 year old Yamaha gauges from Radians, Maxim's and FZ's. There has to be a better way.

Autometer makes some very nice looking gauges and they cater fairly well to the Harley crowd. For stupid money, I'd like to think I could fit Autometer gauges too (okay, honestly, I'd look for a cheap set, used).

Can you all help me think my way through fitting a set of Autometer Phantom gauges (tach and speedometer)?

The Autometer Tach has a pin-type switch to allow it to be used on a 4-cylinder engine. This is for a 2-pulse engine. Referencing the FSM, the tach signal is fed from the grey wire through the TCI unit (ignitor unit). What this signal looks like and if it's compatible with the Autometer tach, I'm not sure. Ideas?

The Autometer Speedometer is programable, based on a 2-mile run. I don't know what it's speed signal looks like or how to get it off of the current Seca II mechanical sender. Ideas?
