Greetings xjriders!

I am a novice Xj owner looking for advice on a electrically dead 1997 XJ600N.

No reaction at all when turning on ingnition key. No light, not on the dashboard, not anywhere. Nothing happens when I press the starter button.
-Battery voltage 12.8V
-All the fuses in the box under the seat are good.
-Gear in neutral
-Sidestand up
-Makes no difference wich position the kill switch is in.

The bike has been parked under a sheet in a dry garage for about 5 months. I did general maintenance, oil change etc. and then rode it for a short trip before parking it. The battery was stored in the house over the winter and charged a couple of times. Yesterday I changed the tyres and today I Installed the battery.

Is there anything obvious that I have overlooked?
I find it strange that the bike just dies when in reality I have just taken out the battery and reinstalled it, with five months between.
