Just like the title says the vacuum line going to my petcock keeps falling off. Not the hose itself, but the metal 90º fitting it's connected to keeps falling out of the petcock. This causes the engine to die in the middle of the highway and then it is very hard to start again even after reattaching the line. It happened once a couple of weeks ago and I chalked it up to me maybe knocking it loose while I was troubleshooting electrical stuff, but it happened again today on my way to school (then once more on the way home) and I know for a fact I didn't leave it loose this time.

Weird part is it makes the bike really hard to start after this happens. It will crank but it doesn't get any fuel. The fix to starting it in this scenario seems to be turning the petcock to 'PRIME' and letting it sit for a few minutes before cranking it. Both times when I did that it started right up after trying to start it 5-6 times with no combustion at all.

Anyway, I'm about to weld that beach in there so I'm wondering if there's any reason I wouldn't want to do that. Why isn't there a screw or a clip holding this thing in there? Why did they even make this part detachable in the first place?
