So I got my XJ out to teach my girlfriend to ride last weekend, but I hadn't gotten the battery fully charged and it died half way through. I ended up bump starting it about 5 times, and the last time we tried it, I let out the clutch and the rear wheel just kept spinning with little resistance and the bike sounded like a quiet whine, like maybe it was getting very little charge from the bump start.
I'm concerned I might have broken something. Any thoughts?
I was bump starting it in 2nd gear. Not sure that would cause any unique problems, but maybe it's pertinent. I didn't have much trouble bump starting it, it pretty much worked first time each time. I haven't tried to start it again yet as my garage is buried in my roommates stuff during Boston's annual "purge", aka sept 1 move-in day.
