Identify That Part

How about a game, similar to the riding game, where we post photos of a part and try to guess what it does and where it goes? I'll go first. Here's one from my parts bin. What is it, where does it go, and what does it do?



First one to identify the part, describe where it goes and what it does, gets to post a subsequent challenge by posting a new photo of a new part. And so on and so fourth.

For the sake of simplicity, keep the parts listed to those that are stock or factory accessory XJ parts. This will be fun AND educational.
