I have both, a full V&H 4-1 and a Yoshimura 4-1
The 1993 Im working on came with a very nice 4-1 V&H setup on it. My question is, which one is better? The Yoshimura uses factory "headers" where the V&H is a true 4-1 header / pipe. They both weigh about the same. I've re-jetted the carbs to a #20 pilot and 105 main with a spare pilot screw washer as the " ten cent re-jet". I also have a 4 degee rotor on order from the UK.
Any input as to which of the 4-1 setups you would use and why. Initial thoughts are to use the Yoshimura, the muffler even though mine does have some superficial damage seems to be built much better and isn't held together with springs. I want the bike to run the best it can and am not concerned about MPG. I do like the 4-1 look and dont plan on going back to a 4-2 setup. The center stand I lucked onto on CL is coming in handy as a very small shop stand but will have to go once I get the bike running, hopefully this week!
