After finding out the PO has butchered the clutch lever and had to fix the connection to the pushrod lever on the engine casing with a damn cable tie i decided to switch it out for the proper cable, It arrived on Saturday so I thought as it's only a quick job (can you see what's coming??) I would nip out and sort it between the almost constant showers.
I unhooked the old cable lubed the new one and fitted it to the bar on the engine casing and it clicked in perfectly, I threaded it through the headstock and attempted to hook up the lever to find there is no free play...
Turns out now the lever bar on the engine casing will not move forward and engage the clutch plate, it will move backwards like there is free play but it comes to a full stop before the point it was even connected at before.
This is the extent of the travel in the lever bar.
Any recommendation on my next step or is it clutch off to have a look time?
