cylinder head removal?

hi there I,m trying to get the cylinder head off with the engine still in the frame , is it possible as mine wont lift over the back (inlet) side chain tensioner, is it possible to remove this chain tensioner and get it back with out removing engine?????????? any HELP would be appreciated cheers samantha
