bar grips - confusion

A while back I replaced my grips and making a newbie mistake I failed to loctite the grips screws on my '98 and lost a bar end on the way home. Got some cheezy replacements on ebay and now decide to reorder some nice new OEMs. Problem is I didn't keep my old one and these new ones don't seem to fit right (or I forgot how they fit) They have a ~1/3" shoulder with 4 symmetric notches and the notches don't seem to engage to the bar end leaving a huge gap. I remember a gap from before since the grips are a little shorter than the stockers but this doesn't look right. I show the number as 4JH-26246-00 can anyone tell me if this is correct for a '98?
