Thumping under power?

I have a 92 and my problem is only under power while moving I get a thumping from the bike. I just replaced the rear wheel dampeners. There are no flat spots on the tire, and the sprockets look OK. Even after that the thumping is still there. The thumping does pick up more the faster I go. Could that be just the chain?
