All products change over time. Once good products get more cheaply made to cut costs. Once good paints get a new formulation to meet emission requirements. These are the once good products that are no longer recommended:
1. Bikemaster O-ring Chains: These chains used to be made in Japan and stamped right on each link. They were good, high quality chains with high quality components. Sometime in the last year, something must have changed at Bikemaster. The most recent Bikemaster chain I purchased is build differently and made in the Czech Republic. It's construction is different. It's link design is different. It doesn't look nor feel as well made as the prior BM chains. I will run this new chain for a while, but I can no longer recommend their chains.
2. Rustoleum BBQ Paint: Rustoleum BBQ paint used to be the best stuff you could put on your headers. It held up to the heat and would go thousands of miles before needing to be redone. This most recent batch went on more glossy and after a few hundred miles, has cracked and fallen off the headers most near the cylinder head. The formulation appears to have been changed. From now on, Rustoleum's BBQ paint is no longer the best stuff for your headers and this new formulation actually really sucks. Avoid it.
Products I can NO LONGER Recommend
