As you all are undoubtedly aware, we attribute the clutch noise in the Seca II to a worn pin on the back of the clutch basket. This pin secures the oil pump drive gear to the clutch basket.
Tonight, I pulled my clutch out and had a look at the pin. Here is the free-play found at the pin:

I also decided to take a look at the gear on the oil pump (which is driven by this gear on the back of the clutch basket). On my bike, the amount of free-play in the gear on the oil pump was significantly more than the free-play on the clutch basket:

I then removed the pulley and tested the oil pump shaft. The oil pump shaft also has a great deal of free-play:

So now, I'm wondering. Are we chasing our tails with repairing the pin on the back of the clutch basket? Is the free-play in the oil-pump normal? Thoughts?
