Race Undercutting gears

So a co-worker just recommended to me to undercut the gears on my engine before I put it back together (he was a week too late, but oh well). He said he has done it and loves it. Just thought I'd see what you guys think. I don't have a big problem with gears slipping, but second slips out sometimes. Maybe it's a thought for the future.
