Hey gentlemen.
I have a few questions.
I did kind of an overhaul on my Seca II and I was having some issues with it. I replaced the carbs with rebuilt ones (that had sat for 5 years apparently).
I have a bad habit of stripping these stupid phillips screws and the carbs appeared to be super fresh inside and out (when opening the butterflies). So I decided to just go ahead and throw them on the bike. I replaced the carb boots as well. I have a few questions.
The carbs are (finally) getting fuel out of the bowls, I cracked the bleeders opened and verified there was atleast fuel in there. What are the nipples between carbs 1&2 and 3&4? Do those need to be connected with a hose? Do they just hang there? I read they just face up towards the airbox but I am not sure. I kept spraying gas into those to get all the seals nice and lubed.
Do I need the airbox on to start the bike? Do I need the crank case evac hose connected for the bike to start? So far I had the airbox off trying to start it. It went from no start, to minor rumbles, to backfires and more than a few revolutions of the crank as I kept forcing gas into the port between carbs 2&3.
How do I adjust the base set screw that holds the throttle to "idle?"
Is there anything I should try to get her going? I assumed since these carbs were rebuilt I did not need to pull them apart as they were ready to be thrown on the bike when they were built.
Thank you so much.
