Ok, I think I know the direction I want to go in with the XJ550. I am thinking of turning it into an old skool adventure-type, dual sport oriented bike. I would like to put some rough and tough tires on it for that purpose as well. So, what would you recommend? I won't be racing this, but it does need to have reasonable wear and nice grip. I see a lot of people on US forums talk about Shinko's 244, but they are near impossible to find here. They seem cheap in the US, but do they offer the quality? Or should I go with Continental's TKC80's or Heidenau's?

All suggestions welcome. This is a budget build, so please no $900 a set tires. ;)
