How to take a bike apart for the first time ever

Hi all,

I have my XJ550 Seca sitting in my garage and I really want to get going on it. There are a ton of things I would love to do to it, but alas, I have little to no technical experience in this field. I admire you guys who bring in bikes, then pull them apart to the bare frame and build them up again to be awesome machines. I would like to do something similar and I bet there are many out there that would want to do the same. So, I reckoned that all the combined knowledge of this forum might enable us to write something like a 'Dummies guide to motorcycle dis- and reassembly.' That would help me, but might also trigger others to do the same.

Thoughts?
