I'm new here

Got my first bike for my 10th birthday and had one until I was 20 - I put that one into the back of a car and lost my license. Was smart enough to know that I couldn't be trusted on the road so didn't replace it. About 3 years ago, when I was 45, I figured I was mature enough to try again and got myself a '91 GSX1100G. Had some fun on that but the weight (259kg dry!) was getting me down and the third party insurance prices have been going up and up and they are tiered by engine size - the G, at 1127cc, was in the (approx.) 1100 - 1300 range.
Just picked up a '95 XJ600S Seca II - I'm saving $500 a year in on-road costs due to the smaller engine size and it is 77kg lighter.
Took a bit of a risk and road it 2 hours home direct from the seller - all worked out OK.
The odometer says it has only done 32,000km. The seller didn't have anything to support that and didn't even try to claim it was true - but it's possible. Engine feels "tight".
Clearly needs some carby work, missing lots of screws from fairings etc., some electrical niggles and will need the forks re-chromed (or replacement forks) - about what I expected from a 18 year old bike.
Only ridden it for 2 hours and already more comfortable with it than I was with my G after 3 years!
I'll head over to the Seca II forum now...
