Hi All,

Scotty here, just thought I would do a quick post to say hi and let you know I've just joined you all and purchased an XJ!

My wifes pregnant with our first child at the moment and ready to pop in November :) so I figured that it would be a good idea to get a smaller bike to commute to work on and leave the car at home for her. So three weeks ago I stumbled across a 1992 XJ Diversion, it was for sale 20 odd miles down the road, had been sat still for three years and I got it for a great price (£250).

Now the part I thought was interesting, its the 400cc version that was imported over from Japan in 2001, looking at the clocks and converting from Kilometers to Miles its only done 16k, although a lot smaller than my other bike (Intruder 1500) I figured it would be perfect for the commute to work, it needs a little work and I am currently waiting on some bits for it to see how good the engine is (starter solenoid has gone). But I figured with the help of my brother in law who can powder coat I should be able to make a sweet little runner from it.

heres a few pics below, apologies for the lack of a full length pic, I was in such a rush to strip it down I failed to get one lol. I've already decided to convert to a naked look as when the fairing came off it was cracked and broken, and I prefer the naked look so should convert quite nicely. Was thinking of going with the following:

Gun metal grey frame
Spray engine, wheels and small panels black
Tank and fenders cherry apple red

Oh, almost forgot to say, I'm down in Cornwall, UK, little Town called Torpoint just over the river from Plymouth, Devon

Cheers

Scott
