So as many of you know I just got done painting the tank. In the process of wet sanding I got some water into the inside of the tank and have bit of surface/flash rust on there. I know there is the thread on how to clean your tank with prep and etch but I am nervous to do that and ruin the paint the job I just completed. Looking back I propably should have sprayed a can of WD-40 in there as soon as I emptied the fuel. If I srpay some WD-40 in there now will it remove the light surface rust that is there? Before doing anything I was planning on cleaning the tank but looking inside I didn't see any signs of rusting so I didn;t do the prep and etch thing. What can I/ Should I do before I fill the tank up. Any suggestions would be a huge help.
