This is her when I bought her back in 2007

After riding her like that for a couple years, an "oops" during an oil change and getting blown over in the wind it left the fairing all rashed and cracked and missing a mirror. Recently I decided I was going to change her up a bit and make her my own. For starters I puled the fairing, rolled the handlebars and ziptied the headlight on the speedo mount. I also took the rear fairings off and rode her around like this for a while...

Although I liked the full naked look, I couldn't think of how to hide all the wires and doodads that those rear fairing were covering. But with the paint fading on them I decided it was time for a refresher...
Before

After

I was thrilled that my colors I picked were coming together. My favorite color is Yellow so I wanted to keep yellow in mind with the color scheme. I decided on a simple stripe from the front to the back with silver sides.
Fender unmasked

Bike with side fairings and tank drying or curing whichever you prefer

On the tank i didn't get the tape down enough and got little wobblies in the line, so I just covered them up with some black pinstripe. After adding some bar end mirrors, and chopping the front fender this is how she sits today, 6 years later :grins:

Future plans are new pipes, proper clipons and and a new headlight/speedo...

Hope you enjoyed. Ride safe! :kudos:
