I fiddled with the bike for a couple hours today after getting it home. So far, I've not been able to get it to start. I checked all of the fuses, put the battery on a charger, took off the fuel tank and the intake manifold to get a better look. I found some evidence of a previous owner beating on the starter, so I gave that a try. Every now and then, it would attempt to turn over, but not very hard. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to take steps to remove the engine from the rest of the bike and make sure that it turns freely. I hope the problem is just the starter.
