Starting issues

So I wanted to take my bike for a ride and it fired up nicely and backing out of the driveway it died cause it wasnt warmed up much but then I tried starting it again and it only gave a loud sound coming from the battery do I need a new battery or does it just simply need to be charged? First time issue and couldn't find anything on here any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
