little by little ive been fixing up my 96 xj600. i know theres only so much that can be wrong on the brake system. what i have right now is the front brake. pretty much i dont use it and just stick with the back brake because that is working fine. when i hit the brake lever for the front i have to pull pretty far back. i checked the fluid and well there wasnt much in the res. so i added some bled it out with my vaccum pump and it seems to be air free. dont see any leaks in the line. so pretty much it seems to be a caliper issue or rotor issue. which is more common. i saw alot about rebuild kits for the calipers. where is a good place to get them. then also the rubber seal under the res cap was so swollen it doesnt really go back in. so its just kinda squished in. when i pull the handle with the bleeder open it seems like theres plenty of pressure from the master cylinder. then i have to push the lever back out a little bit. so pretty much is it just easier to buy a rebuild kit for the caliper or to just buy another one like on ebay. im trying to figure out whats the easiest way to fix it so i dont lose too much time. never know how the winters going to be in jersey.
