Hey guys,

So I took my carbs apart and cleaned them up a bit. I had a hanging idle problem. (I would rev and the engine would hang for a second after pulling in the clutch before lowering in RPM's.) Turns out my boots are actually cracked, so I'll be ordering new boots. Anyhow, I was putting everything back together and I stripped off the copper screw that screws into the jet connected to through the butterfly valves. (if that makes sense...? Here's the part number 1HX-14565-00-00.) My question is, since this screw is stripped in the hole would I still be able to run the bike? The top of the screw holds in the pin for the float needle so I'm assuming if I run the bike the pin will fall out and the float will fall. Will this cause gas to run out of the overflow pipe?

Cause I ran the bike and that's what happened...I just want to make sure it's because of the broken screw and not because I put something back together wrong.

Thanks everyone!
I love my xj :)
