Well last week I took what was (for me) a long ride. It was about 2.5 hours on the bike, probabably a total of 145 miles covered or so. I was out riding with a buddy of mine, (he has a '10 HD Softtail Springer) and I had the wife with me. Now, I can't point to a specific incident (except for maybe one panic stop where I used a large amount of engine brake), but in the last 10 miles of riding or so I noticed the chain was louder than normal. I figured maybe I just baked some lube off or something, but when I pulled into my driveway and looked at it, I found the chain has stretched maybe a links worth.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Do note, it is quite possibly the original '92 chain, as the bike just turned 13k miles.
