tank sealant?

So im getting ready to paint my new fuel tank and im looking to clean/seal/protect the insides before i do,

im wondering a couple of things:

1. what products have yall used to seal your tanks?

2. will painting the tank without sealing it cause my paint to fail prematurely?

3. should i seal the inside with a slosh-around type product, or is there a spray on outside style sealant, or both?
