Awesome to find a forum with people knowledgable on these bikes. There is definately NOT alot of avail aftermarket parts targeted to the 92 > Seca Xj600 bikes out there. The good news there is that it creates enginuity and employs crafty thinkers.
Off hand here are my thoughts and I am sure they have ALL been tried in some way. Your help in what to try and what not to try would be GREATLY Appreciated and save some head aches too. I know there is a search feature on here but I cannot seem to draw up everything I want to see and sometimes guys start a thread and fade on day 2 leaving you to wonder (DID IT FREAKN WORK) LOL!!!
1) Front end exchange possibilities? Will any of the old FZR 600 front fork, tripple clamp and dual brake wheel setups fit ?
2) what rear shock will raise the rear and add a stiffer feel to the rear for better handling?
3) exhaust mods. Obviously we can just buy the VH setup , but lets face it, $375 to the house is STEEP when you have $900 in the bike itself right. Does anyone know of a curtain collector or crossover sold to make the OEM a 4 into 1 setup and then I can pick up a cheap motoard takeoff slip on and mod it to work?
4) Gauge pods and front (street fighter type fairings / lights ) Anyone know which cheap setups fit the best and are actually funtional. I dont want a bike you have to park at night because the HID light is more like a kids flashlight that flickers with every bump in the road.
5) controls, I want to get rid of the mirror mount / control mounts on the bars. They are bulky and look horrible. Any suggestions on what cleaner look funtional brake and clutch lever mounts are cheap but functional?
I know in the end I will have WAY more $ in this bike than it will ever sell for, but I want to play with it and see what I can build for under say $2200 invested.
Feasible?
Any help appreciated.
