I start up my "new" XJ every day or two to let it warm up and spend some time getting familiar with it. No license until May, so I can't do much more than ride it around the parking garage (which has actually been a good confidence booster).
Anyway, the bike idles around 500rpm - way below the standard idle speed in the manual (1,150 - 1,250rpm).
How important is it to maintain correct idle speed?
