small amount of smoke off engine

Well, I took my Seca on its maiden voyage today down the street and back 5 or 6 times. I never went more than 25 mph and most of the time was spent around 10 mph or idling. At the end of my riding there was a ticking noise and the engine had some smoke coming off of it, not much, i could only see it occasionally. I'm guessing this happened because i wasn't traveling fast enough to cool the engine down. Is it likely that it caused any damage?
