When I bought my 600 it needed some tidying up although it was running well and had an MOT.

It looked better in the picture than a detailed look showed it was:-

Things to do have included:-
  • Front and rear brakes strip and tidy up
Clean up and spray wheels - going to be gold
    Braided hose front and back
    Seat recover
    New tyres
    Adjustable fork caps
    Fork oil
    replace chain
    Sprocket carrier bearing
    chain oiler
    valve clearances
    carb balance
    Fit a rack
    Respray tank
    Brighter headlamp
    Fender extender
    Fork gaitors
    Fitting for a sat nav
    Rear shock
Quite a bit to do but it will put my stamp on it and make it fit for my purpose - light touring and trips to see distant friends.

I've been doing a little bit most days and it is surprising how much progress you can make. I'm keeping costs down through, where possible, using materials and parts I already have and, where I need to buy stuff, shopping around and not worrying if a slow boat from china is involved.
I'll share some things on here when I feel they may be helpful to others.
