Like the subject says, I have tons of fuel in the oil of my bike.
I just got the bike a few weeks ago and originally it wasn't running great, so i did a basic cleaning of the carbs and changed the oil. At that point I put in car motor oil temporarily until my motorcycle oil arrived. When I drained the oil, (the oil that came inside the bike, not the car oil yet...) I used a 7-quart oil pan knowing that the bike should only have 2-3 quarts in it. IT FILLED ALMOST THE WHOLE PAN. The oil also smelled of gasoline.
Thinking that the gasoline smell was because the carbs were dumping way too much fuel in, I figured the problem should be fixed at this point.
I ran it with the car oil for a few days. I had been told that if the clutch starts to feel weird then stop riding and put the motorcycle oil in. One day I went to ride it and as soon as I put it in gear it would cut off. Being a bit of a noob to motorcycles, I figured this was a clutch issue, so I changed the oil real quick. Later I found out that it cut off because of the kickstand switch. Derp.
Now, about a week and a half later:
I went for a ride last night and after I parked it the oil looked slightly low, no below normal, but I figured I'd top it off. So this morning before I left for work I put a little oil in and it wouldn't start. I didn't have time to mess with it then, so I took the car to work.
Came home this evening and after talking with the guys at work, figured it might be overfilled. So I drained the oil and about a gallon came out. Thin, pretty clear, and smelling of gas. I tested to make sure but putting a little on the ground and seeing if it would light with a lighter. Needless to say it did.
So somehow in about a weeks time over a quart of gasoline has made it into my oil. Any ideas why?
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give you guys all the details.
