So I know a lot of people would love a fuel level light or gauge but don't have the tools to go welding a mount on the tank to bolt it threw.

I've been thinking about this for a while now and have been wondering,
Do people think getting a sender of this kind of shape

Or this kind of shape

Drilling a hole at the lowest point of the tank to push the sender threw then 2 smaller holes where the bolts would go, throwing a gasket between the tank and the sender then pop riveting the sender in place with some heavy duty stainless steel rivets would work?

In my experience with rivets this would cause a tight enough seal but what do others recon strength, reliability, resistance ?

It's not something I'm looking to do straight away but I've got a fuel gauge light on my SV 650 dash so would be nice to use it.
