I got the bike two days ago. It had about 1 to 1.5 gallons of gas. I rode it about 2 miles that day. Parked it in my garage and all was fine. Yesterday, I put some seafoam in the tank and filled it up with 92 octane. Rode to work and did some errands. All was fine.

I went into the garage this morning and bam, was hit by a the smell of gas. Now I was in my garage for about three hours last night and did not ever smell a hint of gas. Didn't see anything pool up on my floor. This morning, yup, a little oil and a some gas. (Although the two may be separately leaking). Like an idiot, I attempted to start it just to see if it would turn over. Nope. Tried just a few times and gave up. Drove the truck to work instead.

I've searched this site and it seems that either 1) my petcock is failing or 2) I need new o rings on my float needle seats would be the case. I am not mechanical at all. I do my own oil changes and can adjust my chain. Thank goodness I have a repair manual.

Question: what should I check first? And why in the heck did it happen this morning? That gas on the floor was pretty fresh. It didn't leak at all last night. It just seems like very weird timing. Could it be something else?
