I have recently invested in a diversion 6 after some time off from motorbiking, I have named it a name I can not post on here
due to battling with it day in day out. My XJ is certainly a doer-upper. I have sprayed her blue (temporarily and until she's mechanically sound) as she was worse for wear and previous owner appears to have gone down at some point on the right hand side. All fairing seems to be bodged on with random bolts and bits, and the engine casing is a little worse for wear (missing a couple of fins here and there).
She was also leaking oil everywhere!! Following the amazing how to's and advice on the forum, I (a lady with limited to no mechanical know how), have learned to strip her down, have checked valves, cleaned carbs, managed to get the awful airbox back on and sorted the oil cooler and lines out. Have also changed oil and air filter. A big thankyou to everyone for their sound advice and knowledge. It has been invaluable!
All in all she is getting there, still a few issues to sort but engine sounds much much better so far and I am still learning.
After being a honda rider for a long long time and having a few kawasaki's I didn't get along with, I think this is the one to keep and make my own. I'm a very happy camper so far.
