Hello everyone,

First time I have owned a XJ600. Background on the bike. I got it for $200 as a "non running" bike. The PO put about 4-5 quarts of oil in it. So it go sucked up into the air box and blew all over the engine etc... I did a lot of research about the Xj's before I bought it about oil in the air box problems and I figured I could fix it so I bought it. I drained all the old oil cleaned the air box etc.. Put new 10w 40 and a new filter on it. After sitting for over a year (Before I bought it) I choked it all the way and hit the start button. It started after 2nd attempt. but now I am getting an engine noise I'm not to sure what it is? I don't remember if it was there when I first started the bike after the oil change. I haven't synced the carbs or adjusted valves yet. I don't know how and am hesitant in trying. Here are videos of what it sounds like. Right after it started, after it is warmed up and ridden a little bit and when it is idling. When pulling the clutch in it chances the sound a little but not a lot. Also it has 43K miles. This is going to be a project bike for sure FYI. :prob:

This is after it is warmed up and was ridden a little bit.

This was when I first got it. After I cleaned up the oil mess.
I can get more videos and pictures if anymore are needed.
Know enought to be dangerous. Love to take things apart and modify.
