So I went and did this tonight: Installed Windows 10 Technical Preview core 10041. I'm in the middle of updating that to core 10061 as I type this. Why, you ask, well, it's fun to see what Microsoft is up to and know how things came about. But more importantly, it lets me test out forum operations in different browsers and operating systems.
I've been an avid user of windows 8 and 8.1 and I like them. I haven't understood what all the dislike for that version of Windows was about. But after giving this new version a cursory look, I have to say, wow, they really nailed the start menu. I like how dynamic it is over the one in windows 8.1. I also like the no-nonsense menus and windows layouts in the settings and other system pages. Feels a bit like the old Windows 3.1 in its icons and descriptors. More to come.
