Gentlemen,

I've been lurking, researching, and jumping in on other peoples' threads for about 2 months now, which just happens to coincide with when I bought my bike. This forum & community has been a huge help and amazing knowledge resource, so thanks for all that.

I tried to register for the gallery, but it didn't send my activation email, then I was banned, oh well. I just uploaded the images to my personal site.

Without further ado I present Careless Whisper:

She lives in Manhattan, also spending time at my shop in Brooklyn. I picked her up for $950 from a guy that owned her for 4 years and never once turned a wrench on her.

The craigslist ad described the bike as "Apocalypse Chic", which I find to be an apt description. Also had no "unnecessary gauges", which it turns out are all the gauges, WHO KNEW? So, no odometer, but the title said 40,000 when he bought it 4 yrs ago, he estimates another 10k, so let's put it at 50,000.

When I bought her she had a slight stumble at certain RPMs, very old, mismatched tires, the front brake was dragging, and there were a host of other issues. I did all the necessary work - carb cleaning (they actually were pretty clean), oil change (was dark dark black), valve adjustment (2 valves had 0 clearance), front caliper disassembly and cleaning, carb sync, pilot adjustments with IR thermo. Also put in 20 pilots and 105 mains and new, matching tires.

I have her pretty dialed in now and she runs awesome in my opinion and is a blast to ride. Plenty fast for NYC, and my gf finally has a legitimate reason to wear her leather jacket when going 2-up

Seeing your other bikes it's clear that I didn't exactly get the best deal for what I paid and the money I've put in (about $1,200 total), but I wouldn't take it back for nothin!
