Having been rear-ended before in a car has made me wary about the visibility of drivers behind me when I'm riding my XJ (especially since I don't have mirrors on the bike at the moment). While perusing sources for LED flasher relays, I stumbled across a neat little brake light flasher from CustomLED (http://www.customled.com/products/magic ... ht-flasher). Here's a short clip of five of the ten settings that you can set the little device to flash:

The other five settings not shown here are just loops of the five settings that I did record. The patterns are actually much more defined when viewed in person; my camera doesn't capture enough frames per second to be able to pick up every single flash in the faster patterns.

I'm using a LED 1157 brake light flasher bulb for brightness and because some of the settings can't be used properly with an incandescent bulb (per CustomLED's information). I love that the brake light flasher makes lots of eye-catching patterns and hopefully will deter the less attentive drivers from crashing into me from behind. Can't be too safe with all the illegal immigrants and dead-beat food stampers out there!

Installation was a snap. They provided zip-ties, Posi-Lock wire connectors (which are awesome! ) and the instructions were very easy to follow. It was three wires, I was done and had the bike back together in less than 10 minutes.
