NewXJ600 owner in Virginia

I picked up a 1993 Seca II from Craigslist for $250. Searched online for advice and found a lot here, so I thought I would introduce myself. Mechanically inclined, but this is my first motorcycle. The bike has sat and has gunk in the tank, but that is an easy fix. Would not turn over, so knowing cars I figured it was the starter. Well it is the starter idler gear..The interior, the one on the starter clutch thing. Anyway, the motor is apart and I am currently searching for a not so expensive replacement. Everything else looks good with the exception of the plastic. Missing a rear fairing and the front are cracked so I figured I would leave them off. I am sure I will be here often asking for help and advise.
