Hey guys,
I found this forum back when I first bought my 93 xj 600, back at the end of March. Picked it up for $400. Needed a front tire and the starter gear is missing a few teeth. But it only has 9,200mi on it!
So far I've gotten a new to me used tire in good shape, changed the oil and put a new battery in. I registered it (temp plate for now) and got my learners permit Wednesday and it started raining on my way home
Took the bike out yesterday though. Gorgeous day out. First time taking the bike off my own street. Loved it. I might have just opened a door I wont be able to close any time soon.
Anyways, in NH vehicles over 15 years don't require a title. However I do need to get a VIN verification filled out by a police officer. When I registered the bike (temp plate only requires a bill of sale) the DMV told me it was never registered in the name of the guy who sold it to me. I'm a little worried I bought a stolen bike, but he may have just ridden it on the previous owners plate for a few months. We shall see today when I stop by the police station on my way home from work.
Anyways, lots of useful information on this site! Came in handy when looking into the starter gear replacement. For now if i roll it in gear I can get the starter to catch, so I'll ride it for a bit until I find the gear for a good price and pull the trigger.
