My bike got pretty loud yesterday on the way to work, it ran okay, but got loud. after parking. I found the noise was coming from the front of the engine so I looked around the headers, but didn't see anything wrong or broken. So I looked at it last night, after getting home and chores done. As it turns out #2 header pipe was completely broken and #3 was almost broken all the way around. I started checking prices on used header pipes on eBay, realizing I'd be buying another set of 20-30 year old headers, along with the new header and muffler joint gaskets I had already put in an order for. I said forget it and bought a new system, it’s a Delkevic 4-1 Exhaust 18" Stainless Steel Oval Muffler. All stainless steel.
