Fuel pump ticking/ clicking when engine running

Hello everyone, I own a 1992 division 600 s and until recently all was good. It developed a fuel leak around the fuel pump and pipes. So I replaced the all the pipes and it cured the fuel leak but now the fuel pump ticks/clicks when it is running? The harder it revs the quicker it clicks/ticks. On tickover it is about every 5 seconds and increases with higher revving. The bike still runs absolutely great so I’m after ideas as to what the clicking/ticking is as it obviously is not right but not bad enough to stop the bike running. I would love some ideas as to what is now happening and what I can do to sort it out. Just ran it too work and it ticks clicks less when the engine has been running fora while
