Modifying a Yamaha Venture Centerstand to fit the XJ

I refuse to believe that we XJ owners have to settle for paying high-dollar for centerstands that crop up once in a while. I have purchased two center stands, both on EBay, with an average price of $100 each. That makes me unhappy :thumbdown:.

My goal here is to take the stock centerstand from a Yamaha Venture and modify it to work with the XJ600. The first part of this project will be to photograph and take measurements of both stands and determine what modifications will need to be made. The second part will be to source the materials and modify the stand to work on the XJ600.
