Wanted to show you my old and new carburator heat protector rubber cover. The old one is left to be a worn piece of hardened and cracked rubber/plastic after 29 years.
An OEM cover costs about 100$ here in Denmark, i could find it on ebay and pay 55-80$ including tax
I purchased a piece of EPDM rubber. Thickness 1mm and 1400*1000mm (40inch*55inch) It cost me 20$. EPDM rubber is very resistant to tempeture, weather and uv light, it is not resistent to oil or gasoline but that should not be necessary. The heat and weather are the important things here
And 1 hour with some sharp tools i got this result. i think it will do the job
