I got my motorcycle licence in 2016 and rode 3 different bikes over the next year (a Suzuki GS500E, Yamaha FJ1200, and Kawasaki KLE500), but then my circumstances changed and I didn't have a bike for 3 years... until last Monday! Picked up a 1999 XJ600 (Diversion) from a friend's dad who's taken really good care and put more money into it than he probably should have (but don't we all do that with our projects?).
Here it is all ready for a ride out this morning - I'm not sure how I feel about the green but let's see if it grows on me:
All the major things are in order, but there are a few things which I'd like to investigate:
- Rear brakes are squealing when coming to a complete stop (pads might be on the way out, need to check them!)
- The headlight is very 90s, I'd like to get more light output if possible
- The lights in the instrument cluster are pretty dim, I'd like to see if I can put LEDs in (I struggle to see them in bright daylight
